The ADIC 1200 series are 12 tape library changer for backup and archival storage feature a random tape access time of under six seconds. Fully compatible with Cheyenne ARCserve and Legato Networker. Compression tape drives provide up to 96GB with the DDS-2 1200D, and up to 48GB on the DDS-1 1200C with transfer rates of 44 and 22 MB/min respectively.
Virtual Library System 8mmSingle or dual half-height 8mm drive with 11 cartridge removable magazine provides up to 154GB of storage capacity with a maximum of 8 seconds for cartridge changes. Dual drives can provide concurrent operation in read and write functions for faster operation, and double performance during backup. Robotic tape changer automatically performs tape rotation and retrieval. Drive redundancy allow for tape to tape copying and continuous up time, with data transfer rates up to 60 MB/min single and dual 120MB/min on Data Grade 8mm cartridges.

With up to 20GB of storage and a peak transfer rate of 5MB/second synchronous and an average transfer rate of 2.5MB/sec (150MB/min or 9GB/hour ) provides strong performance. The 128 track tape with tape mark directory and 2 channel tape head provides random access times of 45 seconds or less. Features on board DLZ compression with variable block size and uses 1/2" CompacTape III(1,100ft.) with a shelf life of ten years.

Features on board DLZ compression with variable block size and uses 1/2" CompacTape IV(1,600ft.) with a shelf life of ten years.
